New Site Procedure
Purpose: To guide users through the process of setting up a new company, site, transmitter, and sensors in the CommonSENSE system.
- Create a Company
1.1 Navigate to the “Create Company” section.
1.2 Enter the Company Name.
1.3 Upload the Company Logo.
1.4 Click Create Company.
1.5 To edit the company name or logo, use the pencil icon.
- Create a Site
2.1 In the Site window, click Create Site.
2.2 Enter the Site Name.
2.3 Input the Postcode to auto-fill the address.
2.4 Click Create Site.
2.5 The site will now appear in the list of created sites.
- View Site Details
3.1 Select the site from the list.
3.2 The Live Data screen will open.
3.3 The Alarm Group field will default to the name of the site.
- Assign or Reassign a Transmitter
4.1 Navigate to Slide Menu > Admin Tools > Data Logger.
4.2 All data loggers will be displayed.
4.3 If a transmitter is already assigned, it will show the current site.
4.4 To reassign:
• Click Reassign under the Actions tab.
• In the Reassign Data Logger window, select the desired Company and Site.
• Confirm the selection.
• The transmitter will now be assigned to the new site.
- Register a Sensor
5.1 Navigate to Slide Menu > Admin Tools > Sensors > Register Sensor.
5.2 Enter the Sensor Serial Number.
5.3 Select the Sensor Type from the dropdown list.
5.4 Attach the Calibration Certificate.
5.5 Enter the Calibration Date.
5.6 Click Register.
5.7 A confirmation message “Sensor Registered” will appear.
- Assign Sensor to a Transmitter
6.1 Go to Slide Menu > Admin Tools > Data Loggers.
6.2 Click Assign next to the appropriate COM Port (usually COM Port 1).
6.3 In the Assign Sensor to COM Port window:
• Select the sensor from the dropdown.
• Click Assign.
6.4 A message “Sensor Assigned Successfully” will appear.
- Add Sensor to Live Data Screen
7.1 Navigate to Slide Menu > Live Data Screen.
7.2 Click the + (Add) button.
7.3 In the Add Sensor Location window:
• Select the attached Logger.
• Choose the COM Port.
• Select the Sensor ID.
• Input the Location.
• (Primary and Secondary Spike fields are optional.)
• Click Add Sensor.
7.4 The sensor information box will now appear on the Live Data screen.
- Sensor Change Procedure
8.1 Go to the Live Data Screen.
8.2 Click the Temperature Symbol.
8.3 Change the sensor to No Sensor.
8.4 Navigate to Slide Menu > Admin Tools > Data Loggers.
8.5 Click the sensor you want to remove.
8.6 Select No Sensor.
8.7 Select the new sensor Serial Number.
8.8 Return to the Live Data Screen.
8.9 Click the Show Active Devices icon to turn it off.
8.10 Click the Temperature Symbol.
8.11 Add the new sensor by Serial Number.
8.12 Click Show Active Devices to turn it on.
